Body Posture

Dogs can indicate fear or stress through their body, which can manifest as cowering, trembling, paw raising, or scratching.

Eyes

Dogs can show stress through their eyes by showing the whites of their eyes, or scanning the room for danger.

Mouth

Dogs show stress through their mouths by yawning when they are not tired, panting, licking their lips, or drooling.

Ears

Dogs ears can indicate stress if they put their ears to the side, or furrow their brows between their ears.

Behaviour / Activity

Dog behaviour can indicate stress if they urinate, defecate, or vomit, they hide or try to escape, they dig, or they walk in circles. Dogs are very hesitant and reluctant or if they shake off water when they are not actually wet.
