Dog Grooming Pricing Structure

Welcome to Boops & Kisses Pet Care, where scruffy pups get glow-ups and floof is taken very seriously. With gentle grooming, lots of patience, and an unhealthy amount of “who’s a good dog?!” energy, we turn messy doggie’s into dapper doggo’s. Expect wagging tails, happy pups, and a whole lot of boops and kisses along the way.

Full Groom & Style

Our Full Groom & Styling service provides complete care from nose to tail. Your dog will enjoy a relaxing bath and blow dry, followed by an ear cleaning to remove excess wax, nail trimming, paw pad tidying, and a hygiene and sanitary trim for cleanliness.

We then style your dog’s coat using clipper or scissor work to suit their coat type and your preferences. The groom is finished with a light spritz of dog-safe cologne, a dental care spray for fresh breath, and a stylish bow tie — leaving your dog looking beautifully groomed, feeling comfortable, and ready to strut out in style.

De-Shed & Refresh

We give your dog’s coat a deep clean, removing loose and dead hair to reduce shedding around your home. The result is a healthier coat, happier skin, and a dog that feels lighter, cooler, and extra fresh. We will also provide an ear clean to remove excess wax, also trimming your dog’s nails to a safe length and giving your dog’s coat a light tidy-up which consists of tidying up of their feathers and feet hair to give them a natural or cat-like foot. The groom is finished with a light spritz of dog-safe cologne, a dental care spray for fresh breath, and a stylish bow tie — leaving your dog looking beautifully groomed, feeling comfortable, and ready to strut out in style.

The de-shed & refresh service is perfect for Labradors, Retrievers, German Shepherds and all other shedding breeds — even the small ones shed.

Frequently Asked Questions?

Please read the frequently asked questions to find out more on a service or add-on that you would like.

Although some dogs may display aggression solely during nail trimming or due to certain dislikes, there are effective ways to handle these scenarios; it is your responsibility to ensure you bring your own suitable muzzle to his/her groom and/or nail trim appointment.

However, if your dog is prone to violent or aggressive behavior and has a temperament that can be easily provoked, which could endanger others, we kindly ask that you do not bring your dog to our salon.

If your dog arrives at our salon with fleas, we will need to use our specialised flea treatment shampoo. If we find only just a few fleas, we will still need to apply the flea shampoo and still add on this cost for doing so as we are not only removing the visible fleas, but also the flea dirt buried into your dogs coat which means there may possibly be more fleas hiding which we cannot see.

Flea dirt is the faeces of adult fleas, made up primarily of digested blood from the host animal. It often looks like tiny black specks or grains of pepper scattered through an animal’s fur, particularly around the neck, back, or base of the tail. When placed on a damp paper towel, flea dirt dissolves into a reddish-brown stain, confirming that it contains blood. The presence of flea dirt is a strong indication of an active flea infestation, even if live fleas are not immediately visible. Regular grooming and checking your pet’s coat can help you spot flea dirt early and take action to prevent further discomfort or health issues.

In the event that fleas are discovered, we will need to conduct a comprehensive cleaning of our salon, including all tools and furniture, using flea spray. If we transport your dog in our vehicle, we will apply flea spray after your dog departs to mitigate any risk of cross-contamination before welcoming the next pet. Regrettably, we are unable to perform the spraying and cleaning before returning your dog home, as we aim to prevent your dog from ingesting the odour of the flea spray and other chemicals.

We also recommend washing all items your dog comes into contact with in hot water to ensure they remain flea-free.

If it looks like it will take more than 20 minutes to tackle your dog’s matting, we are unable to continue due to the Animal Welfare Act 2006. As a result, we will have to clip-off your dog’s coat.

De-matting is usually done with a 7F blade. For mats that are close to the skin, this is usually done on a 10 blade, but used mainly in extreme circumstances when the 7F blade cannot go through the matting because it is pelted to your dogs skin.

Mats can greatly restrict blood flow, making it difficult for a dog to maintain its body temperature, and they can also lead to skin infections which means there maybe ‘hotspots’ underneath your dogs matted coat.

We will make sure to talk this over with you before we proceed as we will not de-mat your dog without your consent.

Absolutely! We charge as little as £1.00 for every mile you are away from us. For example, if you live 2 miles away, it’ll be £2.00 in total to pick-up and drop-off your dog.

Baths play a crucial role in grooming. Before we clip dog’s coat, it’s vital that the coat is clean and properly prepared. Attempting to use clippers or scissors on a coat that hasn’t been adequately prepped can result in an uneven look and may cause discomfort for your dog due to dirt, tangles, and knots. Proper preparation not only ensures a smoother finish but also helps preserve our tools from dulling too fast. Additionally, it can reveal any underlying issues with your dog’s coat.

If your dog has a double coat and tends to shed frequently, it’s essential to remove the dead undercoat. We’ll begin by thoroughly brushing your dog’s coat with a deshedding rake before the bath. Following that, we’ll apply a de-shedding shampoo to help minimize shedding until the next grooming appointment.

We are more than hoppy with trimming the excess fur around your dog’s ears! However, there are conflicting rumours regarding whether ear plucking leads to ear infections, so it is advisable to consult a veterinarian. If you would still like us to pluck your dog’s ears during their grooming session after hearing our advice, we recommend that you be present to hold your dog whilst this procedure is being done. This helps ensure they remain calm and still, allowing us to complete the task effectively. Once the procedure is finished, we will apply a soothing ear cleaner solution to the inner ear to alleviate any discomfort that may arise from the plucking – this may not prevent any infections, but it will sooth the ear from being irritated.

As I provide multiple services, I can only take care of one dog a day in the salon. This means that grooming appointments will need to be scheduled on a different day for each dog.

At this moment, we can only provide a bath and a tidy for your puppy. To qualify for a full grooming session, your dog needs to be at least 1 year old and be accustomed to being groomed. However, if your dog isn’t accustomed to being groomed, we do a free puppy socialisation session which gets them use to the whole process and noises of a salon, ready for their first experience.

If your dog is not accustomed to grooming, we advise introducing them to the salon environment first, as their first grooming can be a stressful experience. You can either stay with your dog for their first session, or we kindly ask for your patience, as it may take us a little longer to finish due to their unfamiliarity with the process.

For a full groom, it can take approximately 2 hours. Please note that your dog’s behaviour, size and coat condition can also have an impact on the time it would normally take us to complete a groom. We do factor in a 5-10 minute break after their bath and blow-dry for them to have a drink of water and a toilet break, and then we continue with the groom. In contrast, our bath & tidy grooms typically take around 1.5 hours to complete.

This would be classed as a welfare groom. We need to assess what your dog can handle. Generally, older dogs might struggle to stand for extended periods during a complete groom. We recommend splitting the full groom over two days. We can bath and dry your dog on the first day, and then have the rest of the groom the day after. Alternatively, you can give your dog a bath the night before and then bring them in to see us, but if you do bath your dog yourself, please make sure that he/she is fully brushed-out ready for their groom – this will mean we won’t have to take your dog super short if there are loads of matting left in their coat.

Please keep in mind that for senior dogs, our goal is a comfortable groom.

An asterisk (*) indicates that it is necessary to review our terms and conditions or our FAQ’s, as this is essential for clarity.

Prices indicated with (+) or /from mean that these prices can be adjusted accordingly If your dog’s coat requires additional care. For instance, if your dog has fleas, the flea treatment service will be added. If your dog is matted and not on a regular grooming schedule, an extra charge may apply in addition to the grooming fee. Additionally, if your dog has more blown coat than anticipated, a separate price may be provided.

Our bow ties are available only in limited quantities based on current stock. If stock becomes unavailable, we will place you on a waiting list for when new stock arrives. Please note that no refunds will be issued if we are out of stock, as these items are a lovely touch for completing our dog grooms and are inherently limited in availability.

Our doggy bow ties need to be attached to your dog’s collar, so please bring your dog with their collar if you would like a bow tie after their grooming session.

If your dog is a smooth or short-coated breed and will not require an Advanced Groom, we may offer them a lovely bow tie after their session.
