Just a friendly reminder that extra fees may apply in certain situations, such as if fleas are brought into the salon, which would require us to clean the area, or if your dog needs special treatment due to heavy matting. Feel free to ask us when you book if you’d like to include any of these additional services with your dog’s groom.
This package aims to help your puppy feel comfortable in a grooming salon setting, particularly if they are new to it. It’s also a wonderful option for dogs that may be a bit anxious, giving you the opportunity to see if we are the right groomer for you and your four-legged friend for when the time comes to getting him or her groomed. Please note, this package does not offer grooming services.

Our dog grooming pod is in Hemsworth, West Yorkshire.
Our Standard grooming package includes a bath and a tidy-up, featuring the following services.
First, we will give your dog a thorough brushing before their bath, along with a nail trim.
Next, we will clean your dog’s ears to eliminate any wax and absorb any leftover moisture from the bath, helping to prevent inner ear infections.
We will also trim the excess fur between their paws to avoid matting, and perform a hygiene and sanitary trim. Additionally, we will tidy the fur around your dog’s eyes.
To complete the grooming, we will apply a refreshing doggy cologne, ensuring your pet feels and smells fantastic. If your dog has skin allergies, we offer cologne and shampoo specifically designed for sensitive skin.
Our Advanced grooming service includes everything offered in the Standard grooming package, along with a fresh haircut tailored to your preferences, whether that means clipping or thinning your dog’s coat.
If your dog has feathering, a skirt, or trousers, we will neatly groom these areas unless you specify otherwise.
We will also trim any excess fur around the paws to create a well-rounded or natural look.
While we will de-mat your pet, please be aware that severe matting may incur extra charges.
To complete the grooming experience, your dog will receive a complimentary stylish bandana.
Although some dogs may display aggression solely during nail trimming or due to certain dislikes, there are effective ways to handle these scenarios; it is your responsibility to ensure you bring your own suitable muzzle to his/her groom and/or nail trim appointment.
However, if your dog is prone to violent or aggressive behavior and has a temperament that can be easily provoked, which could endanger others, we kindly ask that you do not bring your dog to our salon.
If your dog arrives at our salon with fleas, we will need to use our specialised flea treatment shampoo.
This also requires us to thoroughly clean our workspace and tools after your dog leaves, ensuring there’s no risk of cross-contamination before welcoming the next furry friend and their owner.
Please note that an additional fee will be applied onto your dog grooming appointment.
If it looks like it will take more than 20 minutes to tackle your dog’s matting, we are unable to continue due to the Animal Welfare Act 2006. As a result, we will have to trim your dog’s coat quite a bit, which will incur a de-matting fee.
De-matting is usually done with a 7F blade for mats that are close to the skin. Mats can greatly restrict blood flow, making it difficult for a dog to maintain its body temperature, and they can also lead to skin infections.
We will make sure to talk this over with you before we proceed.
Absolutely! We charge as little as £1.00 for every mile you are away from us. For example, if you live 2 miles away, it’ll be £2.00 in total to pick-up and drop-off your dog.
Baths play a crucial role in grooming. Before we clip or thin your dog’s fur, it’s vital that the coat is clean and properly prepared. Attempting to use clippers or scissors on a coat that hasn’t been adequately prepped can result in an uneven look and may cause discomfort for your dog due to dirt, tangles, and knots. Proper preparation not only ensures a smoother finish but also helps preserve our tools from dulling too fast. Additionally, it can reveal any underlying issues with your dog’s coat.
If your dog has a double coat and tends to shed frequently, it’s essential to remove the dead undercoat. We’ll begin by thoroughly brushing your dog’s coat with a deshedding rake before the bath. Following that, we’ll apply a de-shedding shampoo to help minimize shedding until the next grooming appointment.
We’re more than happy to help with trimming the extra fur around your dog’s ears! However, for any hair inside the ear canal, we highly suggest consulting your veterinarian. Removing ear hair can lead to discomfort and irritation for your dog, which may heighten the chances of ear infections. If you would prefer it to be added onto something we do as part of your groom, we would need you to sign and agree for us to commence ear plucking.
As I provide multiple services, I can only take care of one dog a day in the salon. This means that grooming appointments will need to be scheduled on a different day for each dog.
At this moment, we can only provide a bath and a tidy for your puppy. To qualify for a full grooming session, your dog needs to be at least 1 year old and be accustomed to being groomed. However, if your dog isn’t accustomed to being groomed, we do a free puppy socialisation session which gets them use to the whole process and noises of a salon, ready for their first experience.
If your dog is not accustomed to grooming, we advise introducing them to the salon environment first, as their first grooming can be a stressful experience. You can either stay with your dog for their first session, or we kindly ask for your patience, as it may take us a little longer to finish due to their unfamiliarity with the process.
It really depends on the situation. For a full groom (Advanced), we usually set aside 3-4 hours. This timeframe accounts for your dog’s behaviour during the groom process, we include a 5-10 minute break after their bath and blow-dry for them to have a drink of water and a toilet break, and then we continue with the groom. Sometimes we can finish earlier. In contrast, our Standard grooms which are just a bath and a tidy typically take around an hour and a half to complete.
This would be classed as a welfare groom. We need to assess what your dog can handle. Generally, older dogs might struggle to stand for extended periods during a complete groom. We recommend splitting the full groom over two days. We can bath and dry your dog on the first day, and then have the rest of the groom the day after. Alternatively, you can give your dog a bath the night before and then bring them in to see us, but if you do bath your dog yourself, please make sure that he/she is fully brushed-out ready for their groom – this will mean we won’t have to take your dog super short if there are loads of matting left in their coat, resulting in a dematting charge, too.
Please keep in mind that for senior dogs, our goal is a comfortable groom.
